A new Grimm in town 3

Zara's POV
It had been a small week now since the Spinnetod had attacked me. The scratches on my arms were already healed and the wound in my neck was starting to heal too, though it still would take atleast a week before the band-aid could go off.
In the meantime I also moved in with Nick and Juliette. I stayed for the moment in one of the two guestrooms that were left since the third had been painted in three diffrent shades of purple only yesterday. Next week the new furniture would arrive and then I could start unpacking. Of course I had insisted on paying the remodeling of my new bedroom since Nick and Juliette refused to let me pay rent or anything like that.
For the moment I was sitting in the car with Nick. He was driving while I was gazing out the window. "Where are we going?"I wanted to know. "Musicschool."he replied. "Why?"was my next question. "I have to take care of some business there."Nick pointed out. "Plus I want to introduce you to someone.". I rolled my eyes at this last sentence.
Living with Nick and Juliette was fun but I still had to get used to the fact that they were 'parenting' me. For example, since I got homeschooled my whole life and graduated highschool when I was only 14, they were worried about me not being around people my own age. In their opinion I needed friends.
"I'm sure you two will get along just fine."Nick went further. "He's a Reinigen and because of that also is a bit...". "A loner?"I guessed. "Yeah."he answered. "I met him during a case. He's a good kid and a very talented violinist. Because of that talent he got a scholarship for this musicschool filled with rich teenagers who immediatly judged him by his social status.".
"Exactly why I'm glad I got homeschooled."I pointed out. "Look Zara, just try this out okay?"Nick asked me. "He needs a friend who understands him the way he is. As person and as Reinigen. And you can use a friend too.". "Fine, I'll talk to him while you're off doing... What was it again that you were going to do?"I questioned.
"I have a meeting with the principal."Nick told me. "Roddy's father is in the hospital and his mother died when he was little. So I offered being his guardian until he becomes 18 or until his father gets better.". "He's that ill?"I asked a bit concerned. "I'm afraid he is."Nick replied when he pulled into the parkinglot of the musicschool and parked the car in a free spot.
"So, you can understand that Roddy can use a friend like you."he added. "A friend like me?"I repeated. "Someone who knows about his... Hidden nature and knows how to handle that."Nick explained as he got out of the car. With a sigh I followed his example. "Fine, I'll give it a try."I eventually gave in.

Nick leaded me through the maze most teenagers know as highschool. To me it was yet another point on my list why I was glad that I got homeschooled. He stopped in front of a classroom where in thick black letters the number 109 was painted on the glass in the door.
"Roddy's in there."Nick told me. "You go wait with him while I'll be going to the principal.". I nodded and watched how my cousin walked away, further down the hall. With a sigh I knocked on the door that lead to the said classroom but didn't got an answer. So I just entered. From the moment I walked in, a tune played by a violin reached my ears which I immediatly reconised as 'Danse Macabre'.
As I walked further into the room, I soon discovered who was responsible for the music. A boy with dark brown curly hair and blue/grey eyes. When he discovered he had an audience however, he immediatly stopped playing.
"Zig, zig, zig, Death in cadence. Striking a thomb with his heel. Death at midnight plays a dance-tune, zig, zig, zag, on his violin. The winter wind blows and the night is dark. Moans are heard in the linden trees. White skeletons pass through the gloom, running and leaping in their shrouds. Zig, zig, zig, each one is frisking. You can hear the cracking of the bones of the dancers. A lustful couple sits on the moss so as to taste long lost delights."I said remembering the poem where this piece of music was based on.
The boy lowered his violin and smiled. "Zig, zig, zig, Death continues. The unending scraping on his instrument. A veil has fallen! The dancer is naked. Her partner grasps her amorously. The lady, it's said, is a marchioness or baroness. And her green gallant, a poor cartwright. Horror! Look how she gives herself to him, like the rustic was a baron. Zig, zig, zig. What a saraband! They all hold hands and dance in circles. Zig, zig, zag. You can see the crowd. The king dancing among peasants. But hist! All of a sudden, they leave the dance. They push forward, they fly. The cock has crowed. Oh what a beautiful night for the poor world!"he continued.
The last sentence I couldn't help to say together with him, since it was the core of the poem. "Long live death and equality!".  "So, you're Nick's cousin?"the boy asked. "Adopted cousin, but yes. Zara Adams."I told him and offered him my hand. "Nice to meet you.". "Roddy Geiger."he returned the favor and shook my hand.
"Reinigen."I concluded. "Grimm."he pointed out. At this point we both laughed. Ow yes, this was the beginning of a very beautiful, strange and unnatural friendship...
Zara meets Roddy! :w00t: A Grimm and a Reinigen becoming good friends... You can imagine that the Reapers aren't too happy about that ;)
