Been a while since I updated my journal. Life for me... Has happened mostly meaning that there are ups but also downs.
For the down part: I lost one family member, one dA friend and one acquaintance all because of cancer. It hits of course close to home since I myself survived cancer. It also scares me a bit because I know that if you once had cancer, you have a higher risk of it coming back or even develop a whole new cancer. I'm going to the hopital once a year for an annual check-up for that but still... You keep thinking about it.
My dog, Tascha, who is the oldest out of the three dogs we have and who's also really MY dog, had to get surgery. She needed a sterilization since otherwise the chance was very big she would get uturus cancer. During that surgery the vet also took away two harmless tumors plus checked her teeth from which the vet ended up pulling five. Tascha has been under sedation for about 2,5 hours what is quite an accomplishment if you know she's already 13. A few days later she gave me heart attack because she was weak and had trouble breathing and such. We took her to the vet immediately only to discover she had a stomach ache from the medication But she's better now
The ups of life: my cousin Pieter is marrying next month what means that I can buy a new dress, new shoes and everything that comes with it. It's always nice to have the whole family together in one place. And two weeks later my nephew Jesco is doing his first communion bringing the family together again.
It's also Easter break in a few days meaning that I'll see my BFF more and probably meet her boyfriend for the first time. I'm also planning to go to the movies with my mom and brother a lot, starting this evening. We'll go to 'Captain America: Winter soldier' followed by McDonalds (my brother's choice). But also 'Divergent', '47 Ronin', 'The Amazing Spiderman 2', 'X-Men: Days of future past'... Are on the list
As writing is concerned, I fill my free time up with it. I got in a Merlin mood lately so I'll probably update 'The girl from Camelot' on a regular basis. I'm also obsessed with The Musketeers BBC for the ones who haven't noticed yet. I have a fanfic running that's tied back to one of the episodes. The fic is called 'Call of the past' and I'm aslo developing a sort of sequel where Charlie learns even more about her past. Also Percy Jackson is quite present in my life since I'm about to start the fifth book and finally started my fanfic 'The Thorns of a Rose' featuring my OC Althea.

Life has been a little hectic lately... Since my last update the redaction of my first book has been completed, we've talked about the cover, I've made accounts on online bookplatforms,... But the most fun part was that I got to share my synopsis, title and the release date of my book! Of course, being that I'm Belgian, this will all be in Dutch. But I figured that since DA has been a big part of my writing life, I could maybe translate the synopsis to English ;)
'Imogen Parker is a very normal teenager, until she receives a mysterious letter from a foreign country. She has been accepted into an art school from which nobody has heard before.

Thought it was time for some update here on DA :)
For the moment I'm really busy with the publication proces of my book. In a few days the second round of the redaction starts meaning that the whole manuscript gets a last read-over to get out the last typos and errors. Normally this second round should be a little lighter than the first round. There we did major rewriting and such so... Fingers crossed it's a bit more chill ;)
In the meantime we've also been talking about the cover. Two days ago I got two concepts through mail. Both looked very promising but not exactly right yet. So I called in a small meeting with my Blade Team (my betare
Pray for Belgium
As some of you may heard by now there were terrorist attacks in Brussels this morning. Two explosions were at the airport of Zaventem (a third one failed) and another one at the metro.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm safe and that my thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the attack and their families.

It's been a while since I talked about my novel, so I thought I owned you guys an update...
As I said in one of my previous journals, a Publisher contacted me since they were interested in publishing my novel. In the meantime we have signed the needed contract and as of the beginning of this month I've been working together with the redaction to get my book ready for the presses.
The redaction will take place in two rounds. The first one started on the 2nd of March and is still going on. The second round starts mid April.
The first round is the heavy construction round. Whole sentences from which the redaction thinks their not needed get
